A sorrow
My butterfly,
I’ve a sorrow today,
Only with my heart, I do I say;
I cannot stand it when my being cries,
I’ve a longing, I want to share its size;
I close my mouth and my eyes, you see,
The feeling of “shame” overwhelmed me;
But my own grief has now grown,
And deeper roots it’s already sown;
My butterfly, give me two wings,
I cannot fly, I can’t resist;
And when I borrow the wings withal ,
I will let go of my body and soul,
I will give myself to this dear land
That’s holding me in sorrow to pend!
