Skrapar province lies southeast of Berat. Çorovoda is the most developed urban area – just over 50 kilometers away, about an hour and a half drive away. From this town, the surrounding villages and part of the canyons are easily accessible.
The canyons were formed by the erosive force of the Osum River over two to three million years. The river in different periods and especially in rainy weather, changes the inflows significantly, and in recent years it has been preferred for the activity of rafting – rafting on rafts along the abrupt flow of the river.
