Poem by Mitrush Kuteli

Like tomorrow…
Evenings the wind will whisper as before,
the waves will warm the Moon like today,.
to cover the marble, bits of frost will pour
the world will be as it was yesterday

Like tomorrow, the lawn over the grave will rest
and the waves of soil will fold slowly,
the Spring will weave grass and flowers at best,
from the mountains bells will slip wholly.

The Sun will laugh from a corner of a cloud,
he’ll dry the tears on the cherry flowers, far,
the thunder of a lightening will not be loud,
and over the mountains there’ll be God’s powers.

The winter will lay a silver rug of snow
on the melted gravestone, the Cross will lean askew,
on the heavy soil oblivion shall grow
and I will sleep dreaming of you, (forgetting, too)
