Barcelona’s coach, Xavi Hernandez, has commented on last night’s victory against Paris Saint-Germain with a score of 3:2, in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
The Spanish coach considers this a great victory, but insists that nothing is over yet regarding the eventual qualification for the semifinals of this competition. “I am very proud of my team. I think the substitutions came in very well. We studied this game throughout the week, we knew that the substitutes would need to surpass the opponents. But nothing is over yet,” Xavi initially declared to “Amazon Prime Video,”
“It is an important victory, we struggled also because PSG puts a lot of pressure. Our objective is to reach the semifinals and we have an advantage,” he continued. “I am satisfied because even the young players showed that they can be mature. Success also comes from ‘La Masia’,” Xavi emphasized.
According to him, if a young player has quality, he should play, there is no need to have patience and wait.
Asked about the future, Xavi said he is thinking more about the return leg with PSG and reaching the Champions League semifinals.
Two goals from Raphinha and one from Christensen secured Barcelona’s big win, while Dembele and Vitinha’s goals were not enough for the Parisians at the “Park of the Princes.
However, nothing is over as we still have 90 fiery minutes awaiting us in the return leg between these two giants.
