Manchester City wants to reward Rodri with a massive pay increase in an effort to keep the Spanish midfielder at the Etihad for life.
Pep Guardiola believes the 27-year-old has developed into his most important player over the past 12 months. And City is ready to give the man who scored the winning goal in last season’s Champions League final a new deal that would take his basic wage to £300,000 a week. Rodri is currently on £180,000 a week and still has just over three years left on the contract he signed in the summer of 2022.
But City wants him to renew again. Rodri has grown immensely since his arrival from Atletico Madrid, becoming one of the best midfielders in the world.
