Ángel Di María and his family have been threatened with death after the Argentine admitted that he would like to end his career at Rosario Central, the club where he debuted in 2005.
Local media reported that a car left a mark in front of the private complex Funes Hills Miraflores where Di María usually stays, warning him that not even the provincial governor Maximiliano Pullaro could guarantee his safety if he returned to the city. “Tell your son Ángel not to return to Rosario anymore, because otherwise, we will hurt him by killing a family member. Not even Pullaro will save you. We don’t throw small letters. We throw bullets and dead people,” was the message left to Di María’s father.
Recently, the city of Rosario has experienced an intensive increase in violence, for which groups described as “narcoterrorists” are responsible.
