The net spending of Premier League clubs from the 2019/2020 season until the current season 2023/2024 has been revealed, and the positions of some teams will shock the fans.
Financial fair play rules have divided fans and clubs since efforts were made to equalize the incomes of all teams in English football. However, English clubs have become a topic of discussion worldwide as some of them have broken financial rules. Financial rules state that Premier League clubs can endure losses in revenue of up to a maximum of 105 million over three years, but clubs like Everton, Nottingham Forest, and Manchester City are being investigated for breaching this rule.
Everton was the first club to be punished for this, as they were docked 10 points in November for breaking the rules; however, this penalty was later reduced to just six points after an independent commission provided evidence that the Premier League had made mistakes.
Due to these investigations, the net amount of spending by English clubs has been put under a microscope, and the top ten teams that have spent the most between 2019-2024 have been calculated.
