Permet, a small town among the mountains, otherwise known as the city of roses, is a natural paradise in Albania.
Surrounded by mountains, near the Vjosa River, famous for its thermal baths, the city attracts the attention of many tourists and also some billionaire businessmen, such as Dubai billionaire, Mohamed Ali Rashed Alabbar, CEO of Amaar Group, the person who built Dubai, has bought a large farm in this virgin area.
The city of Permet is the only city in Albania who has celebrated the 10th anniversary of no crime or theft.
Permet is also famous for its wild fig jam, a jam made by Permet women.
Permet is also known as the city of kayaks because of the flow of the Vjosa River, the only wild river in Europe from which Leonardo di Caprio is fighting hard with his foundation to stop the Albanian government to build several hydropower plants on this river.

The good news is that from 2022 Vjosa River has been added to the list of National Parks in Albania and automatically according to the law nothing can be built in the river and also cannot be built near its banks. Vjosa river is the only wild river in Europe, protected…..BUT we should always keep our eyes open and i will, because never know what could happen. Politicians are liars.
It is not only our Vjosa, but Vjosa belongs to everyone. We live on this planet which we are destroying every day. Imagine, in 2023 we have only one wild river in Europe. How many rivers does Europe have?? 150 rivers are all over Europe and Vjosa is the only Wild River!!!! This is madness.
