POEM BY MARIA ELENA C. CASTILLO (CUBA)

SUNSET

I saw dolphins in the sky today
butterflies and volcanoes
Cloud drawings with light brushes.
What brush is better than chance
settling in the clouds,
and the lightning profiling the lines,
Over the sky blue canvas?
Wanted to share the beauty of the show,
but like smoke,
was disappearing without warning
to reaffirm that beauty
it’s ephemeral.
Keep in my being,
the heart is incomplete
located north of my views
I didn’t dare to share this one
And it remained intact,
i did not doubt it then
That that was mine forever.
