HOPE SPARKLES IN ADVERSITY
Once more, I take a one lonely ride
Reflecting on where life would take me
Looming obscurities confound and surround
Imprisoning the soul in an inescapable mound.
In a circuitous memory lane I ambled along
Trapped in life’s unceasing lamentations
Phantoms of memories besiege my heart
Mocking, sneering and laughing as I smart.
I groped, dazed through the murky maze
Frantically aware, I am lost in every pace
Sentinels guarding the path to safety
My psyche drowned in wily misery.
Suddenly I heard, rustling from above
A light ray peeping through the clouds
I kneeled down and prayed fervently to God
I felt sufficely cheered,
with hope in His love.
