Senegal have reached the final of the Africa Cup of Nations following a narrow 1–0 victory over Egypt in a tense match marked by intense physical play.
The decisive goal came in the 78th minute, when Sadio Mané unleashed a stunning strike from outside the penalty area, sending the ball off the left post to seal the win.
The first half was characterized by a tough contest and yellow cards shown to Senegal’s Kalidou Koulibaly and Habib Diarra, as well as Egypt’s Hossam Abdelmaguid.
In the second half, the coaches of both teams made tactical adjustments to change the tempo of the game, including the introduction of Lamine Camara for Senegal and offensive substitutions by Egypt.
Despite Egypt’s efforts to equalize, Senegal’s defense remained well organized until the final whistle, securing the victory and a place in the final. There, Senegal will face the winner of the Nigeria–Morocco semifinal.
