A scandal is unfolding in Saudi Arabia regarding the potential transfer of Karim Benzema, who has faced criticism from Cristiano Ronaldo.
The transfer is now on hold.
According to Sacha Tavolieri, the Saudi Ministry of Sports has intervened and suspended Benzema’s move to Al-Hilal under pressure from Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portuguese star is reportedly unhappy that Al-Nassr is receiving fewer funds for transfers compared to other clubs.
Earlier reports indicated that due to Ronaldo’s involvement in the Benzema deal, the transfers of Kanté to Fenerbahçe and En-Nesyri to Al-Ittihad were also put on hold.
All parties had already agreed on the terms, but the Professional League has not yet given its approval.
