Poem by Rabindranath Tagore:

Come as you are, don’t waste time with the mirror,
If your braid has come undone, or your hair is not straight,
If the ribbon at your waist is untied, it doesn’t matter,
Come as you are, don’t waste time with the mirror.

Come across the grass with hurried steps,
If the dew wets your feet, if you lose your sandals,
If the pearls fall broken from your necklace, don’t mind.
Come across the grass with hurried steps.

Do you see the clouds gathering in the sky?
A line of storks flies high, and the wind rushes through the shrubs.
The frightened animals run toward their shelters.
Do you see the clouds gathering in the sky?

In vain you light the lamp to adorn yourself; the wind shakes it and blows it out.
And who will notice if soot has not touched your eyelids?
For your eyes are darker than the rain clouds.
In vain you light the lamp to adorn yourself; the wind shakes it and blows it out.

Come as you are, don’t be delayed by the mirror.
If you haven’t woven the crown, it doesn’t matter.
If you haven’t clasped the bracelet, just leave it so.
It is late; the sky is darkened by clouds.
Come as you are, don’t be delayed by the mirror.
