Pedri has spoken openly about the possibility of Lionel Messi returning to Barcelona, expressing the highest praise for the Argentine legend.
In statements quoted by Sport, the midfielder said:
“Of course I would love to play with him again, without any doubt. He is the greatest in history and he helped me enormously during the year we played together.
In the same statements, Pedri also spared no praise for coach Hansi Flick, highlighting his positive impact within the club:
“He is extraordinary. Within the club, in terms of seriousness, he has changed many things. He has given Barcelona a German touch. On a daily basis, he is very family-oriented, always helps us and gives us advice, especially from a tactical point of view.”
Pedri also defended the philosophy of high pressing and a high defensive line, which from the outside may appear risky due to the space left behind:
“If the team presses high, it is very difficult for the opponent.”
Pedri’s comments once again reinforce the great respect for Messi and the confidence in Barcelona’s current project under the guidance of Hansi Flick.
