MLS club Inter Miami has officially announced on their social media channels that Lionel Messi has extended his contract with the club until 2028.
The Argentine star’s previous deal was set to expire at the end of this year, but the club has now reached an agreement to keep their captain for three more seasons.
Since joining Inter Miami, Messi has been the team’s key figure, making 82 appearances, scoring 71 goals, and registering 37 assists, leading the team to success in American soccer.
Recently, there had been speculation about a potential move to Saudi Arabia, but it now appears the 38-year-old has chosen to finish his career in MLS, where he has found stability and the admiration of the American fanbase.
The contract extension further strengthens Inter Miami’s ambitious project, as the club aims to remain one of the biggest and most followed teams in U.S. football.
