Luka Modrić has highly praised his AC Milan teammate Rafael Leão after Sunday night’s 2–1 victory over Fiorentina.
The Portuguese forward was the hero of the match, scoring both goals for the Rossoneri.
“Rafa is simply fantastic, and I couldn’t wait to play with him. Unfortunately, he got injured early on, but now he’s back — and this is the Rafa we need. He’s an incredible talent, in my opinion one of the best in the world, and he can still improve even more. It all depends on him, but I hope these two goals give him extra confidence. He’s very important for us,” Modrić told DAZN
The Croatian midfielder, who is leading Milan this season with his experience and composure, emphasized that the team is moving in the right direction.
“We have to take it one game at a time. We’re growing as a team, showing both character and quality. This is the right path for all of us together,” he said.
The win over Fiorentina keeps Milan in the Serie A title race, while Leão’s return to form is seen as a major boost for Stefano Pioli’s side.
