The “CIES” Football Observatory has created a list of 100 players with the highest transfer values in football. England join Brazil as the nation with the most players (14) on the list, while Manchester City (13) are the most represented club.
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham is currently the highest transfer value in football at more than £183m (€207m), according to research carried out by the Center for International Sports Studies (CIES).
The 19-year-old midfielder and his AnglA team-mate Phil Foden are the first two in the list of 100 players made by the Football Observatory “CIES”.
The list assesses players’ values by taking performance, age and contracts into account, which explains why Bellingham and Foden are ranked above third-placed Kylian Mbappe, whose deal with Paris Saint-Germain expires in the summer of 2024.
Bellingham, who played for England at the World Cup in Qatar, is contracted to Dortmund until the summer of 2025 but is expected to be at the center of a bidding war this summer, with several of Europe’s elite clubs interested in signing the former -the Birmingham star.
