Negotiations for the contract renewal of Vinicius Junior with Real Madrid are closer than ever, according to José Félix Díaz. The Spanish club is eager to keep the Brazilian forward for a long time.
Vinicius is currently under contract with Real Madrid until June 2027, while his release clause is reportedly around €1 billion.
Talks over extending the deal beyond 2027 had stalled earlier this year due to disagreements over salary demands. The player’s camp was asking for a salary between €25–30 million per season, including bonuses.
External interest, especially from Saudi Pro League clubs, has increased the urgency to reach an agreement. Real Madrid has made it clear that it aims to secure Vinicius’ future, while also maintaining balance within the club’s wage structure and dressing room hierarchy.
According to Díaz, the gap between the club and the player has narrowed, and momentum is now building toward a final agreement. Vinicius’ renewal would not only secure one of Madrid’s key attacking stars but also protect the club from the risk of losing him as his current contract nears its end.
Meanwhile, Arab clubs are reportedly ready to offer over €250 million to lure the Brazilian away from the Santiago Bernabéu.
