Real Madrid coach Álvaro Arbeloa reacted after the defeat to CA Osasuna, stressing that the title race remains open despite the setback.
“La Liga has many matches and you can’t win them all. I believe in my players. The championship is still long,” Arbeloa said at the post-match press conference.
The Madrid coach admitted that his team struggled against a defensively solid opponent. “We lacked speed. When you face deep defensive blocks, you have to move the ball very quickly; otherwise, it becomes easy for the opponent to defend.”
He added that despite the loss, the team has shown mental strength in difficult moments before. “I think the team has shown character when such moments have come, when there have been defeats like this.”
Arbeloa also acknowledged Osasuna’s clinical efficiency: “The two times they shot on target, they scored two goals. We didn’t play a good match.”
The defeat to Osasuna increases the pressure on the Madrid side in the La Liga title race, but the coach remains optimistic about the rest of the season.
