Alonso has only one question mark regarding his starting XI for El Clasico

Real Madrid have received positive injury news ahead of El Clasico, and Xabi Alonso will be able to choose from his full squad except for two injured players for Sunday’s match against Barcelona.

Los Blancos enter this clash with a two-point advantage and could deliver a major blow in the title race.

This week, Dani Carvajal and Trent Alexander-Arnold returned to team training and, after several weeks out, are expected to be available for El Clasico.

However, since they have only just regained fitness, it’s possible that both may start from the bench, with Fede Valverde likely to continue at right-back.

In addition to the two right-backs, Dani Ceballos and Dean Huijsen have also recovered and trained without issues. Both suffered muscle injuries during the international break, missing matches against Getafe and Juventus, but are now fit to start for Alonso against Barcelona.

This means that only David Alaba and Antonio Rüdiger remain unavailable for the clash — a stark contrast to Barcelona’s ongoing injury problems.

According to Diario AS, there is only one midfield position that Alonso has not yet decided on.

In front of Thibaut Courtois, Huijsen is expected to return and partner Eder Militao, with Valverde and Alvaro Carreras completing the defensive line.

Vinicius Junior will occupy the left side behind Kylian Mbappé, while Aurelien Tchouameni, Jude Bellingham, and Arda Guler are certain starters in midfield.

The only open spot will be contested between Eduardo Camavinga and Franco Mastantuono.

Using the Frenchman would represent a more conservative and physically dominant option to maintain control in midfield against Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Franco Mastantuono would offer more natural width on the right, the ability to provide decisive passes, crosses, or shots from the flanks, as well as dynamic combinations with Guler, Bellingham, and Mbappé.
