During the pre-match press conference ahead of the Champions League clash with Juventus, Xabi Alonso spoke about Arda Güler. The Turkish talent has made an impressive start to the season for Real Madrid.
Since Alonso’s arrival on the “Los Blancos” bench, Arda Güler has become a regular starter for Real Madrid. Ahead of their Champions League encounter with Juventus, the Spanish coach had nothing but praise for the Turkish international. He even compared him to two former Real Madrid stars — Mesut Özil and Guti.
“He’s a mix between Özil and Guti. Guti had that quality to build the play and deliver the final pass. Mesut did as well. I always valued Özil highly. The more we involve Arda in the game, the better we become. We have to keep pushing him forward. We’re very happy with him,” Alonso said at the press conference.
Real Madrid have started the Champions League group stage perfectly with two wins, and they also lead La Liga by two points ahead of Barcelona, whom they face on Sunday in El Clásico.
