Now the Seagulls are not afraid of me anymore
For me the seagulls fear no longer about,
Because each day they see me after all
They feel that, like them, I resemble a cloud…
And I also carry sea-flowers in my soul.
Maybe they see me while heading on straight
And just like the worms, I don’t scratch or yell.
Maybe over waves I jump crest on crest
And I sleep in beauty, into a shell!
And now the seagulls aren’t afraid of me.
I sit amid them and I feed them with crumbs.
They’re touching my hands coming close to me!
They move up and down my shoulders in runs…
With so sweet a jargon, they’re talking in vain.
You can’t understand the seagulls out there!
They want me a sailor to go back again.
Compassionately plucking my grayish hair.
On board of the ship I go for their quest
I’m losing my wage, but I sail in the sea.
Just like a sea wolf up and down the crest
I have no idea where the wave takes me!
