Paulo Fonseca has returned to work in Italy, this time taking the helm of the Italian giant AC Milan.
The Portuguese coach has been officially presented as Milan’s newest coach and spoke about the adventure that awaits him at San Siro.
“I want to thank the club for the trust they have placed in me and my work. I am very motivated, excited, and confident that I can do a good job. I know I am coming to a club that wants to win.”
“I was in the museum, saw the history of Milan, and I must say I have a lot of ambition to become part of this history. Zlatan Ibrahimovic also showed me the space for new trophies.”
I am ready to start this adventure, I can’t wait. I am aware that it is a great responsibility but also a great honor. Milan is a universal club. I am very confident that I will make it successful.”
“We want to be a dominant, courageous, and aggressive team that does not let opponents play and makes the fans proud,” declared Fonseca.
Milan’s new coach also touched on the need for a central forward, with the club long searching for the ideal profile to replace Giroud.
“We know we need a striker. We are looking for one with the right characteristics. Our new striker must be strong in the last 30 meters. We have clear ideas; we know what kind of player we want and expect to have him here soon.”
“I am here also because I believe a lot in the players we have. I believe a lot in this squad. Of course, we need a few players as there are some positions where we can improve,” stated Fonseca.
