Mbappe Could Miss 10 Days Due to Nose Injury

Kylian Mbappe might have a broken nose following a collision at the end of the match, potentially causing him to miss the rest of the group stage.

In the 85th minute, during a free kick he caused, Kylian Mbappe was left on the ground, the victim of a violent collision with Kevin Danso.

Lying on the ground for several minutes, his blood-stained jersey highlighted the severity of the contact with the Austrian center-back.

Present on the field for TF1, journalist Saber Desfarges reported live that the French medical staff indicated Mbappe might have a broken nose. Didier Deschamps was pessimistic after the French victory (1-0) but is awaiting further examinations. Mbappe is expected to undergo an MRI this evening to determine the extent of his injury.

Fabrice Bryand, the former doctor of the French team, said that Mbappe’s absence could last at least ten days, meaning the captain might only return in the Round of 16, and that too, in the best-case scenario.
