However, Colombian singer Shakira was among those who didn’t prefer this movie, as she stated in a cover interview for Allure published on Monday. “My boys absolutely hated it. They felt it was embarrassing,” she said.
The famous artist referred to her sons, Milan, 11, and Sasha, 9, whom she shares with her ex-partner Gerard Pique.
“And I agree, to a certain extent,” she expressed.
The “Punteria” singer explained that she wants her sons “to feel empowered” by “respecting women.”
“I like a culture that tries to empower women without robbing men of their chance to be men, to protect and provide. I believe in giving women all the tools and the belief that we can do it all without losing our essence, without losing our femininity,” Shakira continued. “I think men have a purpose in society, and women have another. We complement each other, and that shouldn’t be lost.”
While Shakira is for women empowerment, the star emphasized that she doesn’t think this means they should handle everything alone.
