Drew Barrymore shares with the public what she learned from working with George Clooney on a film set. During a new episode of the “Drew Barrymore Show,” the actress and talk show host welcomed Austin Butler and Calum Turner, who starred in the biographical sports drama “The Boys In The Boat (2023),” directed by Clooney.
Barrymore recalled the time when Clooney directed her in the film “Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind” (2002), which was, in fact, his directorial debut. The host mentioned that she “enjoyed working with him” and that he “saved me from doing things I don’t think served me as an actress.”
When asked by Turner and his “Masters Of The Air” co-star Butler to share what things didn’t serve her acting, Barrymore spoke about a specific moment that the Hollywood star set aside to give her some advice about the art of acting. She said, “You never make eye contact with people in a scene,” adding, “Shouldn’t we kiss after looking at each other like this? Eye contact is crazy.” Barrymore, 48 years old, replied, “Eye contact is a big deal in life. I almost feel like it’s a bit unclear, and that’s why I avoid it, but George helped me understand that I shouldn’t do that.”
