The Argentine Jorge Sampaoli is the new coach of the great Brazilian club Flamengo, where he succeeded the Portuguese Vitor Pereira.
Sampaoli has signed with the Rio de Janeiro club until December 31, 2024, Flamengo said on their Twitter account.
Sacked on March 21 at Sevilla, just five months after arriving in Andalusia, Sampaoli quickly found work.
The former coach of Olympique de Marseille (2021-22) and former coach of Chile (2012-16) and Argentina (2017-18) will have under his authority Flamengo, one of the most prestigious clubs in South America.
The fiery Argentine coach already has experience in Brazilian football.
He managed Santos FC from December 2018 to December 2019 and then Atletico Mineiro from March 2020 to February 2021./
