POEM BY GITANJLI MRIDUL (INDIA)

YOU ARE STILL MINE

When moon takes a dip
Into the night ocean
And world hide itself
Behind the dark fantasy
When mystic luna wrap
Star studded veil of virginity
When awestruck sparrow
flutter its wings in perplexity
When those two squirrels
Play on their favourite tree
Amorously
When cicadas are stunned
To see night’s tranquility
When that lovesick lad
Strum the string of it’s harp
Pensively
When after hundreds of years sleep
Awake the yawning sleeping beauty
When on it’s eternal quest
The prince would take rest
On her dew drops lips
The world will shine the lotus carmine
A hymn will be sung in the heaven
That you are still mine!
